Mosaic Arts (Ages 8+)

Description: Get ready to piece together art, history, and imagination in this colorful Mosaic Arts adventure for ages 8+! In this four-session series, young artists will step "into the studio" of famous mosaic masters to explore how tiny pieces can make big art. Students will learn about modern mosaic styles and fill a shaped board inspired by the bold colors and playful designs of Sonia King, Emma Biggs, or Jim Bachor. Students will also create a colorful patterened tile mosaic in the style of ancient cultures such as Roman and Greek! Along the way, students will learn how to safely use mosaic tools, experiment with color and texture, and earn badges for skills and tool use and they bring their own mosaic masterpieces to life. From ancient patterns to modern flair, this class is all about creativity, craftsmanship, and discovering the joy of making art - one tile at a time! Age: 8+
