Digital Game Design for Artists Level 1 + 2 (Ages 11+)

Session Dates (4): Friday, January 9th Friday, January 16th Friday, January 23rd Friday, January 30th Time: 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM Description: In this workshop series, you’ll step into the world of game design—no complicated coding required. Using GDevelop, a powerful visual programming tool with JavaScript under the hood, you’ll bring your digital art to life as interactive stories and adventures. You’ll create original sprites and animations with Piskelapp and Libresprite (the free version of the popular Aseprite). Then, as a group, you’ll vote on your favorite genres—whether it’s a Kinetic Novel, Adventure, Platformer, Zelda-style quest, or Shooter—and design your own games within them. By the end, you won’t just be making art—you’ll be making worlds you can play! If you've taken this class previously - this is a perfect session to continue building your skills! If you are a complete beginner - this is a great place to start! We are combining level 1 and 2 into the same session - so no matter your experience level, all are welcome!
